Emirates Palace was operated by the luxury hotel group Kempinski Hotels & Resorts. The world's most expensive
hotel was built and is owned by the Abu Dhabi government. The city, which is the United Arab Emirates' capital makes a great impression on the Middle East corporate tourism being the biggest rival of Dubai. The 3 billion $ cost hotel was opened in 2005 and is a colossal standstone itself.
The seven star hotel shows the beauty of Arabian culture. Traditional decor is used inside mostly in silver, gold, marble and glass mosaics. The chandeliers are made of Swarovski crystal. There are 114 domes (including the Grand Atrium which is higher than the dome of St.Peter's Basilica in Rome), 200 fountains, the luxurious and technologically advanced Conference Centre, The marvellous Blue Salon and so on. The simplest suite is called Palace Suite. Each of them contains at least three rooms and a 61" plasma screen.
There are 302 grand rooms in Coral, Pearl and Diamond categories with a floor area of 55 square meters. The high-quality elegant rooms are furnished to the highest level comfort so hotel guests can relax in total luxury including a 24-hour butler service. The Gulf Arab royalty has a reserved separate floor. The hotel is also the official guest place of
Abu Dhabi's government with 22 three-bedroom suites capable of hosting for each heads of state and their entourages.
Being one of the word's most prestigious hotels, Emirates Palace is a popular place for dignitaries and celebrities. With its beautiful view and incredible luxury, the hotel became the crowning glory of Abu Dhabi.
Some of the famous people who have set food on the Palace are Bill Clinton, Robert de Niro, Will Smith, Lawrence Fishburne, Michael Jackson, many golf superators, FIFA World Cup Champions and also lots of sport celebrities as
the hotel has 70 football pitches.
Emirates Palace offers palatial restaurants which bring the world's finest cuisines. Gourmet meals for example exquisite seafood of the Sayad and magnificent view of the Gulf gives fabulous experience for the visitor. The Caviar Bar is also popular because of its world class champagne menu and caviar selections with live traditional music.
The construction began in December 2001. Architects were Wimberly Allison Tong and Goo (WATG), who are
among the leading hospitality designers worldwide. Unique structure comprises a Palace section with the top suites,
two wigs with guest rooms and the Conference Centre. The colours of the building reflect the different shades of
the Arabian Desert. Interior design is made by KY&A. Emirates Palace employs around 2000 staff members from at
least 50 nationalities. Room prices start with 327$ per night but a 165 sqm room with panoramic ocean view may
cost 1797$ per night.

Fifteen kilometres from Dubai is the tiny Emirate of Sharjah where life continues according to age-old Arabian tradition. Tourism was once popular on this former pirate coast but the Saudi king subsequently prohibited the consumption of alcohol and thus the tourists stayed away. On the western side of the Hajar Mountains an oasis village developed that contains more than two hundred springs and wells. The oasis was once frequently occupied by Saudi Arabia but in 1974 the International Court Of Justice in the Hague ruled against the Saudi occupation. Today, Oman and the United Arab Emirates share the nine oasis villages of the Buraimi Oasis and live together in peace. Abu Dhabi is the largest of the seven Emirates and means, Father Of The Gazelle, a name derived from an ancient legend. The seventy three thousand square kilometres of the Abu Dhabi region cover eighty-six per cent of the United Arab Emirates and in the 1960's the city had a population of five thousand that has now grown to almost a million. As the oil supplies gradually trickle away the sheiks are becoming increasingly cautious with their spending and the oil boom has now been followed by tourism in this fairy-tale holiday paradise that is full of desert romance.

Emirates Airline has taken delivery of its first Airbus A380 aircraft in an historic delivery ceremony with over 500 guests in Hamburg, Germany. The first customer A380 powered by Engine Alliance engines, was presented to Chairman and Chief Executive Emirates Airline and Group, Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al-Maktoum and to Emirates President, Tim Clark by Tom Enders, Airbus President and CEO and John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer, Customers. Also present was James Moravecek, Engine Alliance President and Bruce Hughes, former Engine Alliance President.
"Emirates was quick to recognise the potential of Airbus' all new A380 design, with its large double-deck capacity and excellent operating economics. It will be one of the pillars of Emirates' future," said Sheikh Ahmed. "With its very low fuel burn and quietness, the A380 also sets new standards in environmental performance. It will definitely help air transportation and Emirates grow, while reducing the impact on the environment," he added.
At the ceremony, Emirates unveiled its exclusive, spacious and luxurious cabin, featuring 489 seats (14 first class suites, 76 business and 399 economy). For added passenger relaxation, innovative ceiling mood lighting throughout creates a calming starry night sky effect.
"Fulfilling the A380 dream has required vision, innovation, a lot of courage and determination. Emirates shared in this vision early on and today the result is the world's most modern, innovative and eco-efficient aircraft ever built. The A380 is changing the way people travel. Airbus is proud of all the engineers, staff and customers such as Emirates who have made the A380 a magnificent reality," said Tom Enders.
Emirates is the largest customer for the A380 with 58 aircraft on order. Four Engine Alliance GP7200 engines delivering up to 72,000 lbs of thrust each will power the aircraft, with a resultant overall fuel efficiency of only three litres of fuel per passenger per 100 kilometres.
"Airbus had the prescience, around a decade ago, to correctly anticipate an environment of high fuel prices, public clamour for quieter airports, fewer emissions, and less crowded skies. This is the kind of superior product vision that has served our industry so well," former Engine Alliance President Bruce Hughes said.
The aircraft's efficiency and advanced technologies result in higher operational flexibility and outstanding economics, with a range of more than 15,000 km and seat-mile costs 20 per cent lower than its closest competitor.
The A380 will take-off for the United Arab Emirates on July 29, arriving at Dubai International Airport in the afternoon. Emirates' first A380 commercial service is on August 1st between Dubai and New York, USA. Currently Emirates Airline has 50 Airbus aircraft in its fleet.
To date, total orders and commitments for the A380 stand at 202 aircraft from 17 customers.
